Firefighters have worked through the night to tackle a building fire on Railway Street in Grimsby.

Initially, Humberside Fire & Rescue reported several emergency vehicles were at the scene yesterday evening (11th March).

The fire service took to social media, urging the public to avoid the area due to the presence of smoke.

Later updates confirmed the situation was being scaled back, with one fire engine and an aerial ladder platform (ALP) remaining to manage the incident in the early hours of today (12th March).

Residents in the vicinity have been advised to keep their windows and doors closed for safety.
