Five sentenced as East Yorkshire cannabis line uncovered
The group were involved in supplying cannabis across Hull and East Yorkshire
Five members of an organised crime group involved in supplying cannabis across Hull and East Yorkshire have been sentenced.
An investigation began in February 2025 after officers found a county lines drugs network was operating across the region.
Police found the group was using encrypted messaging apps and travelling between parts of the country to run the drugs line.
A number of raids were carried out in October 2025, leading to five arrests.
Sentences
Armir Metaj, 30, of Roscoe Street, Middlesbrough, has been jailed for five years and four months after admitting conspiracy to supply Class B cannabis. He was found not guilty of conspiracy to supply Class A cocaine.
Patryk Gilwanowski, 33, of Wordsworth Street, Hull, has been jailed for two years and six months after admitting conspiracy to supply Class B cannabis.
Endri Arifaj, 35, of no fixed abode, has been jailed for one year and eight months after admitting conspiracy to supply Class B cannabis.
Gazmir Hameti, 45, of Richmond Road, Hessle, has been jailed for one year and seven months after admitting conspiracy to supply Class B cannabis.
Manuela Metaj, 33, of Begonia Way, Rugby, has been given an 18-month jail sentence, suspended for 12 months, after being found guilty of possessing criminal property. She was found not guilty of conspiracy to supply Class B cannabis.
Investigation
During raids at properties in Hull, Hessle, Middlesbrough, Doncaster and Rugby, officers found more than £135,000 in cash, large amounts of cannabis, mobile phones and vehicles linked to the drugs line.
Police said Armir Metaj played a leading role in directing the drugs network, while the others carried out roles like storing and supplying cannabis.
Officer in the case, Police Constable Claire Dobson said: “The group took deliberate steps to evade detection, including the use of encrypted communications, frequent travel and vehicles linked to false insurance policies.
"However, through detailed analysis of communications data, financial investigation and coordinated enforcement activity, we were able to build a clear picture of their operation and bring those responsible before the courts."
