Five people have been arrested after a response to a report of a stolen vehicle in Hull at around 12.30am this morning (Friday, 17 April 2026).

Officers from the Hull Patrol team were quickly deployed to carry out an area search for the vehicle. After a sighting on Holderness Road, support was provided by Armed Response Officers on routine patrol.

Upon locating the vehicle in the area of Anlaby Road, the driver reportedly failed to stop when requested and continued onto Cambridge Street before colliding with a bollard.

The driver, a 35 year-old man, was detained and arrested on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle, failing to stop, and driving a motor vehicle dangerously.

Four passengers, two men 40 and 29-years-old, and two women 41 and 39-years-old were also arrested at the scene on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle.

While in police custody, searches led to the 39-year-old woman being further arrested on suspicion of supplying a class B drug and possession of a bladed article. The 41-year-old woman was also further arrested on suspicion of possession of a class C drug.

All five remain in police custody at this time while officers continue their enquiries.
