Firefighters were called to a derelict building on Fort Terrace in Bridlington following reports of a blaze at 9.30pm.

Upon arrival, crews discovered a fire on the first floor of the property, which was rapidly spreading to upper floors and the roof.

Responding with six fire engines, two aerial ladder platforms, and a drone, firefighters worked diligently through the night to establish a fire break and bring the fire under control in the early hours of the morning.

Currently, two fire engines and an aerial ladder platform remain on the scene to damp down the area and prevent potential reignition.

Residents in the vicinity are advised to keep windows and doors closed if affected by smoke.
