In a coordinated police operation in the East Riding of Yorkshire, three suspected stolen motor vehicles have been recovered and two men arrested in the early hours of 15th July.

Officers from patrol, the Dog Unit, and Roads Policing Unit acted after a member of the public reported a suspected Hanoi burglary on Kingston Close in Bridlington at around 2.15am.

Reports included an intruder with a balaclava in a garden and a stolen vehicle which was initially located by patrol officers but fled off-road into a field near Langtoft.

The Police Dog Unit found the vehicle abandoned, allowing for forensic examination.

Early investigations suggested the vehicle was part of a convoy possibly connected to West Yorkshire, including another vehicle spotted near Cherry Burton.

Roads Policing Officers intercepted a cloned vehicle, arresting a 51-year-old man on multiple charges, including suspicion of drink driving and burglary.

Sergeants later identified and stopped another linked vehicle westbound on the A166 near Wetwang.

The occupant, a 26-year-old man, was arrested under suspicion of several offences, including theft, burglary, and drug driving after failing a roadside drug test swab.

All vehicles are to undergo forensic analysis before eventual return to their rightful owners.

Both suspects remain in custody aiding ongoing inquiries.

Anyone with information that may assist the police investigation is urged to contact 101 and reference crime number 26*98518.

Anonymous reports can be made via Crimestoppers at 0800 555 111.
