Woman dies following collision involving cyclist and two motorcycles on A166
A 65-year-old woman has died following a collision involving a cyclist and two motorcycles on the A166 near Fridaythorpe.
Emergency services were called to the junction with Pefham Lane at around 10.15am on Sunday, May 24, after reports of a serious road traffic collision.
According to police, the incident involved a cyclist and two motorcycles.
Despite the efforts of emergency responders, the cyclist, a 65-year-old woman, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Her family has been informed and is being supported by specially trained officers.
An investigation into the circumstances surrounding the collision is ongoing, and officers are appealing for witnesses or anyone with relevant footage to come forward.
Police are particularly keen to hear from motorists who were travelling in the area around the time of the collision and may have captured the incident, or the moments leading up to it, on dashcam.
Anyone with information is asked to contact police on the non-emergency number 101, quoting log 160 of May 24.
Officers are also urging anyone who witnessed the collision, or who has any information that may assist enquiries, to get in touch.
