Man in Cleethorpes arrested after carrying fake gun

A man in Cleethorpes has been arrested on suspicion of possessing an imitation firearm, after officers were called to an altercation on Brereton Ave on Tuesday (24th June).

A Humberside Police spokesperson said: "At approximately 8.30pm, we received reports of two men reportedly involved in a verbal altercation outside a property on Brereton Ave in Cleethorpes, where one of the men was allegedly seen carrying a weapon.

"Officers were immediately deployed, and a 40-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of possessing an imitation firearm with intent to cause fear and alarm."

The man is currently in custody as officers investigate.
