Police in Grimsby have seized cannabis plants with an estimated street value of £705,000 from a warehouse on Riby Street, following a report of suspicious activity.

On Thursday, 21st May 2026, officers were dispatched to investigate the warehouse after concerns were raised by a third-party report.

Upon entering, they found approximately 1,174 suspected cannabis plants filling the premises.

Crime Scene Investigators were called in to dismantle the grow, and a scene guard was initially established to facilitate the operation, which has since been lifted.

As enquiries continue to identify those responsible, officers are encouraging the community to share any relevant information about drugs and related activities.

Residents are urged to engage with officers locally or contact the police via the non-emergency number 101 with any information.

The data collected from ongoing community reports plays a pivotal role in forming a comprehensive understanding of criminal activities, aiding in the execution of warrants and ensuring offenders are brought to justice.

For those preferring to report anonymously, the independent charity Crimestoppers is available on 0800 555 111.
