England is set to stage it's first ever World Beach Pro Tour volleyball event in Bridlington this summer.

It'll see top players from around the world travelling to the town for the competition.

The competition will take place between the 25th and 28th of June and will be free to watch.

Councillor Nick Coultish, East Riding of Yorkshire cabinet member for culture and leisure says it'll boost tourism in the area, "We look forward to welcoming some of world’s best volleyball players to East Yorkshire.

"This high-profile international event will provide a huge tourism boost to our local businesses as well as attracting international visitors.”

The Beach Pro Tour is the highest level of beach volleyball competition in the world.

“This is a landmark moment for us in our bid to make the sport more visible in the UK", Rob Payne, Volleyball England’s Strategy Manager for an Ace Service said.
