The pledge is designed to improve the way agencies respond to antisocial behaviour (ASB), with a particular focus on upholding a “gold standard” for the ASB Case Review process, previously known as the Community Trigger.

Gold standard for ASB Case Review

The ASB Case Review allows residents to request a formal, multi-agency review of their case if they feel reports of antisocial behaviour have not been dealt with effectively.

The PCC’s office has committed to supporting local partners in delivering this process, ensuring residents are:

  • Clearly informed about their right to request a review
  • Directed to the correct point of contact
  • Supported throughout the process so that no victim goes unheard

The Commissioner has pledged to promote awareness of the ASB Case Review, make it accessible, embed best practice, keep responses victim-focused, and support longer-term, strategic problem-solving.

“Clear message that we are supporting victims”

Antisocial behaviour can seriously affect people’s wellbeing and quality of life, and the PCC says the pledge underlines a determination to back victims and communities.

A spokesperson said:

“Antisocial behaviour can have a devastating impact on wellbeing and quality of life. By signing the ASB Help Pledge, we are sending a clear message that we are supporting victims. We are committed to ensuring that when residents ask for help, they are met with a coordinated, effective and compassionate response.”

Building on existing community safety work

The commitment to the ASB Help Pledge builds on ongoing work funded through the PCC’s Community Safety Fund, which supports local projects focused on crime prevention and community resilience.

Through this fund, community organisations and local partners are supported to deliver initiatives aimed at reducing antisocial behaviour, improving feelings of safety, and strengthening neighbourhoods.

Residents are encouraged to find out more about the ASB Case Review process and local community safety projects via the PCC’s website and associated information pages.
