Man, 73, left with life-threatening injuries after East Yorkshire collision

A 73-year-old man has been taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries following a collision in East Yorkshire yesterday (2nd February).

Emergency services were called out to the A1079 Market Weighton at around 12.45pm.

Officers say a grey Citroen and a grey Kia collided near to the junction with Cliffe Road.

The driver of the Citroen, a 73-year-old man, was hospitalised with life-threatening injuries.

Other passengers and the occupants of the Kia were taken to hospital too, with injuries not believed to be life-threatening.

Officers are now appealing for witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage to call 101 quoting log 192 of 2 February 2026.
