37-year-old man killed in crash between Routh and Wawne in East Yorkshire

A man has died after a crash on Meaux Lane in East Yorkshire, with another man taken to hospital with serious injuries.

Humberside Police say they understand a silver Subaru and black Vauxhall were travelling north along Meaux Lane towards Routh.

It's understood the Subaru left the carriageway and collided with a tree.

A 37-year-old man, who was a passenger in the Subaru died at the scene.

His family are being supported by specially trained officers.

The driver of the Subaru has been taken to hospital for serious injuries.

Humberside Police say they've arrested the driver of black Vauxhall Mokka on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.

He remains in police custody whilst enquiries continue.

There's now an appeal for witnesses to speak with police, and for anyone with dashcam footage from Meaux Lane around that time to get in contact with the force.
