Woman dies after crash near Market Harborough

Two men have been taken to hospital with serious injuries after the collision in the early hours

A woman has died, and two men have been seriously injured after a crash near Market Harborough.

Emergency services were called to Harborough Road, near Gallow Field Road/Leicester Lane crossroads after reports a car had left the carriageway and overturned.

Police say a woman in her 20s was pronounced dead at the scene.

Two men, who were travelling in the car are being treated in hospital for serious injuries.

We're told detectives are questioning a 21 and 19-year-old on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving

Detective Constable Madeleine Hayes, the investigating officer, said: “Our investigation to establish the circumstances of what happened is continuing and I’d like to speak to anyone who can help.

“We understand that the car left the centre of Market Harborough and then went onto the A6. I’d like to speak to anyone who saw or captured its movements or who witnessed the collision.

“Anything you’re able to provide could assist our enquiries.”
