Three teenagers are in police custody after a man was assaulted in Nottingham city centre early on Saturday morning.

Nottinghamshire Police were called around 1.15am today when a man was found unconscious on Clumber Street.

He had reportedly been walking down the street just minutes before being punched and kicked by a group.

The man was taken to hospital for treatment for a broken nose.

Police swiftly identified and arrested an 18-year-old man and two boys, aged 13 and 16, on suspicion of grievous bodily harm with intent.

Detective Inspector Ian Smith stated: "This was a nasty assault that left a man with injuries that required hospital treatment. Thankfully, his injuries aren’t as serious as initially thought, while we’ve since made three arrests."

Detective Inspector Smith also urged any witnesses or anyone who may have captured the incident on their phones or CCTV to contact the police immediately.
