A third person has been arrested in connection with the investigation into the murder of George Glover.

Following an appeal to identify a man yesterday, a 24-year-old man was arrested last night on suspicion of conspiracy to commit murder and remains in custody.

Previously, a 31-year-old man and a 39-year-old woman were arrested on suspicion of robbery and conspiracy to commit murder. Both remain in custody as well.

George Glover, who was 27, died in hospital on Thursday after being punched while cycling near the junction with Noel Street at around 6.30am on Monday.

Detectives from the East Midlands Special Operations Unit (EMSOU) are still appealing for anyone with information to come forward.

Detective Inspector Kevin Hames said: "I'd like to thank everyone who’s come forward with information so far – particularly concerning the identity of the man previously pictured.

"If you can help but haven’t yet contacted us, please be assured it’s not too late and anything you’re able to provide – including any footage – could be vital to our investigation."
