A 17-year-old boy has died following an e-bike crash in Leicester.

Emergency services were called to Gipsy Lane just before 2am on Thursday 10th July after reports that an e-bike had collided with a wall.

The rider was taken to hospital but died from his injuries five days later, on Tuesday 15th July.

Leicestershire Police say a 15-year-old boy was arrested at the scene on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving. He was later released under investigation.

Two other teenagers, aged 16 and 17, were also arrested on suspicion of perverting the course of justice and have been released under investigation.

Officers are continuing to appeal for witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage from the area around the time of the crash to come forward.
