Drug-drive arrest after collision in Strelley hospitalising four
The incident happened on Bilborough Road yesterday (27 March)
A man has been arrested on suspicion of drug driving after a collision in Strelley, sending himself and three others to hospital.
The head-on crash happened on Bilborough Road between Bramhall Road and Cockington Road yesterday (27 March) at approximately 1.30pm.
All four casualties were taken to Queen's Medical Centre. Their injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.
A 32-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of drug-driving, causing serious injury by dangerous driving and possession of a Class B drug, namely cannabis.
He was discharged from hospital and remains in custody for questioning.
Sergeant Gina Northwood, of Nottinghamshire Police, said:
“Driving under the influence of drugs is extremely dangerous.
“In this instance, a serious collision occurred and it has left a number of casualties in hospital with significant injuries.
“We are currently working to understand exactly what happened in the moments leading up to this collision and ask any witnesses who have not yet spoken to us to come forward.”
