Man injured as multiple streets closed off in Derby city centre

Emergency services were called to an incident in the early hours of the morning

A number of streets have been closed following an assault in Derby city centre.

An injured man was treated by paramedics after emergency crews were called to the Wardwick at around 2.30am this morning.

Police say several scenes are in place and people are being urged to avoid the area.

Derbyshire Constabulary reported the following roads as closed:

  • Wardwick at the junction with Beckett Street
  • Beckett Street at the junction with Macklin Street
  • Newland Street at the junction with Curzon Street
  • Bramble Street at the junction with Curzon Street
  • Spingwell Square
