A second man has been arrested on suspicion of murder after a man was stabbed in Nottingham.
A second man has been arrested following a fatal stabbing in Nottingham.
Marley Gascoine was found seriously injured on Abbotsford Drive in St Ann's at around 12:50pm on Monday (10 Nov). Despite efforts from paramedics, he died a short while later.
A 20-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of murder the next day and remains in custody after police were given extra time to question him.
On Wednesday (12 Nov), a second 20-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of murder.
Marley’s mother delivered a heartfelt statement thanking everyone for their condolences at what she described as an “excruciating” and “difficult” time.
Marley was her first born and she described the family pain as “indescribable” with a “piece of her heart” now forever missing.
Detective Chief Inspector Ruby Burrow, who is leading the investigation, said:
“Marley’s family are going through every parent’s worst nightmare, and our thoughts continue to be with them as we work to ensure those responsible face justice.
“I would like to take this opportunity to thank members of the public who have come forward and provided us with vital information to support our investigation.
“We know that St Ann’s is a tightknit community, and we know the impact this vicious and violent crime has had on its residents.
“While we have arrested two men on suspicion of murder, our investigation continues at speed to build a better picture of the events leading up to that day and what happened that day.
“If you have any information, no matter how small, and you have not already spoken to us, then we would really like to hear from you.
“At the heart of this investigation is a family that are going through the most unimaginable pain who need answers. You may have the information that can help them, and help us further our investigation.”
