Police seek help tracing individuals in Sherwood hate crime investigation

Youths reportedly returned to Mansfield Road Co-op following homophobic incident

Police officers in Sherwood are seeking assistance from the public in identifying two individuals involved in a reported hate crime at a Co-op on Mansfield Road.

The incident, which occurred at about 6.45pm on 27th July, involved youths entering the store and behaving antisocially, directing homophobic remarks at a member of staff.

The individuals are reported to have returned to the store several days afterward, behaving disruptively again.

Police appeal for public assistance

Nottinghamshire Police have conducted several enquiries to trace those involved and have released images to aid their investigation.

PCSO Jason Sergeant emphasised the seriousness of the matter: "The behaviour reported during this incident was completely unacceptable and has no place in our society."

The affected staff member is being supported, with police committed to ensuring dignity and respect are upheld in the workplace.

Asking for information

As part of their ongoing investigation, Nottinghamshire Police are appealing to the public to assist in identifying the youths depicted in the images.

Anyone recognising the individuals is encouraged to contact the police at 101, quoting incident number 26*449440.
