Man seriously sexually assaults woman in Nottingham park
A woman has reported being seriously sexually assaulted in Forest Recreation Ground in Nottingham.
Police have launched an investigation after getting reports a man seriously sexually assaulted a woman in a Nottingham park.
A cordon is in place around the Forest Recreation Ground after it happened yesterday evening (19 Jan).
Officers were called there at 7:56pm by a member of the public who found a woman in her 30s in distress.
Detective Chief Inspector Rob Routledge, of Nottinghamshire Police’s Public Protection unit, said: "We know these types of incidents are very concerning for the public and I would like to reassure people that we are doing everything we can to investigate this report.
“Alongside these inquiries, our uniformed colleagues in the neighbourhood team have increased reassurance patrols in the area. If anyone has any concerns, we'd encourage them to approach one of our officers.
“Specially trained officers are supporting the victim as our enquiries continue and every effort is being made to locate the person responsible.
"I would urge anyone who saw anything suspicious or has any information that could help the investigation to come forward as soon as possible and call us on 101, quoting incident number 617 of 19 January 2026.
