Second man charged over Sutton-in-Ashfield stabbing

A second man has been charged following a stabbing in Sutton-in-Ashfield.

Police have charged a second man following a stabbing in Sutton-in-Ashfield.

A man was attacked on Low Street at around 11:40pm on Monday 23 February, in an alleyway close to a cashpoint. His injuries aren't thought to be life-threatening.

Officers arrested one suspect a short time later and recovered a drill bit.

Daniel Brown, 20, of Church Street, Sutton-in-Ashfield, appeared at Nottingham Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday 25 February charged with wounding with intent.

He was remanded in custody until his next appearance at Nottingham Crown Court on 25 March 2026.

A second arrest was made on Thursday 26 February as officers continued their inquiries.

Jamie Holloway, 24, of Alexandra Street, Kirkby-in-Ashfield, has been charged with assisting an offender.

He appeared before magistrates on Saturday (28 February) and was also remanded in custody until 25 March 2026.

Detective Sergeant Millie Gillett, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “Our investigation has now led to two people appearing in court and being remanded in custody following this serious incident.

“I hope both the victim and wider community welcome the hard work of the police teams involved in these inquiries.”
