A runner has been injured after being struck by a car on a minor road in Leicestershire.

Police say the driver of the vehicle failed to stop following the collision on the B585 Bosworth Lane at around 2.40pm on Thursday afternoon.

The incident took place between the A447 and Newbold Verdon.

Officers say they hope vehicles which were in the area at the time may have dashcam footage which would identify the registration of a black Volkswagen Passat estate .

They say it is is likely the vehicle will have damage to its passenger side.

PC 1895 Hinchliffe said: “If you were in the area around the time of the collision, please can you have a look at your dashcam and get in touch with me if you think it has anything which could be of use to the investigation.

“Likewise, if you know someone who owns a black VW Passat estate which has recent damage, give us a call.”
