Police are asking for the public's help in identifying the owner of a dog that bit a man at Aylestone Meadows.

The incident happened near Packhorse Bridge at around 2pm on 16th November 2025.

The victim, a man in his 60s, suffered a leg injury after being bitten by a dog believed to be an XL Bully. His injuries were not life-threatening or life-changing.

The man was able to take a photo of the dog’s owner before leaving the scene, and this image has now been shared with police.

PC Hirunika Lankapurage, who is investigating the case, is urging anyone with information to come forward.

“The man may frequently walk his dogs in the area," she said.

"Although his face cannot be seen in this image, I hope someone may recognise him from the clothes he’s wearing.

"If you’re the person pictured, then please do get in touch as you may be able to help.”
