Police have issued a new appeal for witnesses to come forward after a man was left needing surgery from an assault in Mansfield Woodhouse.

Detectives investigating the serious assault say it's alleged to have happened in Park Hall Road on April 11th around 2:30 in the morning.

They added that the victim, a 19-year-old man, was left with multiple facial fractures.

A 16-year-old boy was arrested and released on bail.

DC Abbie Roberts, of Nottinghamshire Police, said:

“The victim in this case suffered significant injuries which have left him needing surgery.

“We are determined to get him the justice he deserves and have already arrested a suspect.

“We believe, however, that there were additional witnesses to this attack who have yet to come forward.

“It is important they know just how serious this assault was and the impact it has had on the victim.

“So, if you saw or heard what happened please do the right thing and come forward as soon as possible.”

Officers have highlighted particular interest in hearing from a group of young people who may have seen part of what happened that night.
