Pedestrian dies following collision in Balderton

Police have spoken to the driver of a car but say no arrests have been made

An 81-year-old woman has died following a collision near Newark.

The pedestrian was involved in a collision with a car in Balderton, at the junction of London Road and Hawton Lane around 4.50pm on Monday.

She was taken to hospital but died a short time later.

Nottinghamshire Police say the woman’s family is being supported by officers.

The driver stopped at the scene and was spoken to by officers. No arrests have been made.

Detective Constable Emma Temple, of Nottinghamshire Police’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said:

“This was a tragic incident and our thoughts are with the woman’s family at an incredibly difficult time.“
