Police hunt man after woman robbed of jewellery in Chesterfield village

Police are looking for a man after a woman was robbed of jewellery while walking her dog in Palterton, Chesterfield.

The victim, in her 60s, was targeted at around 11:30am on Monday (March 23) in the fields next to Losk Lane.

A man approached the woman, struck her on the head, and stole three gold rings and a gold charm from her bracelet.

The suspect is described as being of south Asian appearance, around 5ft 10ins tall, with dark hair and facial stubble.

He was wearing black joggers, a white t-shirt, and a black zip-up top.

The woman was not seriously injured during the incident.

Derbyshire Police are urging anyone who recognises the description of the suspect to get in touch on 101.
