Nestlé employees across key UK sites have achieved a 3.9% pay increase, exceeding inflation, thanks to the efforts of Unite, the country's leading union.

The union represents over 1,200 workers at Nestlé, the world's largest food and drink company, across sites in Buxton, Carlisle, Halifax, Tutbury, and York.

After negotiations, workers voted to accept the pay offer, which surpasses the Retail Price Index (RPI) rate of inflation by 0.3%.

Unite general secretary Sharon Graham praised the outcome, stating, "This deal was achieved because Nestlé workers are in a strong union and benefit from collective bargaining."

Unite national officer for food, drink and agriculture, Pat Mcilvogue, encouraged others to join Unite for better workplace conditions, saying, "There is power in a union, there is power in Unite."

The agreed one-year pay deal is backdated to April 2026, bringing immediate benefits to employees.

The success underscores the importance of collective bargaining in securing favourable conditions for workers in the industry.
