Two children in Nottingham have raised hundreds of pounds for our Mission Christmas campaign, so that other youngsters can wake up to presents on Christmas.
Each year, thousands of gifts are given out to families that need it through Mission Christmas.
What is Mission Christmas?
With cost-of-living pressures weighing down on families across the UK, Christmas can be a choice of heating their homes or buying foods.
The campaign aims to get gifts to those who need it so that no child has to worry that Santa will not come.
Money can be donated online, or gifts can be dropped off at local points before the 18th of December.
8-year-old Ellis and 10-year-old Llewelyn from Bingham have raised £555 for the campaign. Their challenge was to do 100 sit ups and shoot 250 basketball hoops everyday for 30 days.
They had initially aimed to raise £250, but they have since doubled that. Their fundraising will mean children in the East Midlands wake up to bundles of presents on Christmas morning.
They had this message for others getting involved in the campaign: "Work hard and maybe try and do your challenge for even longer. Anyone can get involved!"
'We need to do something to help'
Mum Rachel Lloyd-Richards said the boys decided to do the challenge after she read them a book on World War Two:
"Ellis was reading about families who lived in poverty and were starving and he could not believe it.Â
"I told him that people and children still live without enough money and food today and he was so adamant that we need to do something to help.
'He is determined'
"I told him about mission Christmas and he is determined to do as much as he can to raise money to help other children this Christmas and he's recruited his big brother to help," she said.
