Police are appealing for witnesses to get in touch after a man presented himself at a Leicestershire police station with stab wounds.

The man in his 20s arrived in the Market Harborough station's car park in a Land Rover Defender just after 8pm on Saturday (19 July). Officers were able to administer first aid before he was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

Officers believe it is an isolated incident and an investigation has been launched into what happened. They are now appealing for anyone with information to get in touch.

Detective Sergeant Vicki Hudson, from our Complex Investigation Team (CIT), said: “Our enquiries are continuing today and I believe there are people who can provide information that can help.

“We believe this is an isolated incident but I’d urge anyone who has information about it and has not yet contacted police to do so. Anything you can tell us, no matter how insignificant you think it might be, could be important.”

Two men - aged 46 and 49 - were arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender. They have since been released on police bail.
