Arrest made for attempted murder following Mansfield stabbing

Police investigate attack after victim suffers serious injuries

A 34-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after a serious stabbing incident in Mansfield on the night of 13th July.

Officers were called to Littleworth around 9.30pm following reports of the attack, where the victim sustained potentially life-threatening injuries from a single stab wound.

The victim was rushed to hospital and remains in serious condition.

Nottinghamshire Police quickly responded, locating a suspect at a nearby address within two hours and arresting him for attempted murder and possession of Class B drugs.

Detective Inspector James Oakton of Nottinghamshire Police expressed concern for the victim and assured the public of continued police presence in the area to address community concerns.

Police are actively investigating the stabbing and are appealing for assistance from anyone with information or footage related to the incident.

Those with dash-cam, CCTV, doorbell, or mobile phone footage are encouraged to contact police by calling 101 and quoting incident 851 of 13th July 2026.
