Man found seriously injured in Leicester's Narborough Road during early hours
Police are investigating after a man was found injured on Tuesday morning
An investigation is underway after a man was discovered seriously injured in Narborough Road, Leicester, in the early hours of Tuesday morning.
Police were alerted at 2.06am when East Midlands Ambulance Service attended the scene.
The man has been hospitalised and remains in a serious condition.
Authorities are at the beginning stages of determining the circumstances surrounding the incident.
It is believed the man did not suffer any stab wounds.
A section of Narborough Road has been closed off as initial inquiries are conducted.
Central Leicester Policing Area Commander, Inspector Ryan Ludlam, urged against speculation as the investigation proceeds.
“We are appealing for anyone with any information to come forward to us – if you were in the area during the early hours of this morning, please do speak to us about any information you may have.
“Similarly, if you have any CCTV or dashcam footage from the area, please make contact,” Ludlam said.
Ludlam acknowledged public concern regarding the incident and assured that there would be an increased police presence in the area.
“We understand the concern this incident may cause and an increased police presence will remain in the area as enquiries continue. Please do speak with officers regarding any concerns you may have," Ludlam said.
He also addressed potential disruptions due to the road closure, thanking the public for their patience and cooperation as the investigation continues.
