Man in hospital after alleged stabbing in Sutton in Ashfield
Two men are in custody on suspicion of wounding with intent
A man is in hospital with potentially life-altering injuries after being attacked in Sutton in Ashfield.
It's reported the man in his 30s was stabbed around 11 o'clock on the 5th of February in the Beechwood Close area.
Detective Chief Inspector Les Charlton, of Nottinghamshire Police, said:
“This was a serious incident and we have a team of detectives working hard to progress this investigation.
“As we work to understand exactly what happened in the moments before, during and after this incident it is vital any additional witnesses come forward.
“Even the smallest piece of information could prove vital in this investigation, so I urge people to come forward without delay.
“Whilst the investigation is at an early stage, we do believe this was an isolated incident and that there is no wider threat to the public.”
Two men aged 45 and 52 have been arrested on suspicion of wounding with intent and remain in police custody.
Investigations are ongoing and detectives are appealing for additional witnesses to come forward.
