Investigation launched after fire in Selston, Nottinghamshire
The fire has been brought under control as crews remained on scene overnight
A joint police and fire investigation is underway following a building fire in the village of Selston, Nottinghamshire.
Fire crews from Ashfield, Alfreton, Eastwood, and Ripley responded to the incident on Church Lane at around 7pm BST on Saturday, advising residents to avoid the area due to safety concerns.
By approximately 9.50pm, the fire was successfully brought under control, according to Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service, with one fire crew staying on site overnight for continued monitoring.
The service released a statement on Sunday confirming that a joint investigation between police and fire authorities is scheduled to take place later in the day to determine the cause of the fire.
Residents nearby were advised to close doors and windows if affected by smoke from the blaze, at the time.
