Former Leicester dance teacher guilty of sexual assaults - including against student
A former Leicestershire dance teacher has been found guilty of sexual assault.
A former Leicester dance teacher - who touched his students during class - has been found guilty of a number of sexual assaults.
Gregory Pichery, 57, sexually assaulted two young men - who were aged 19 and 20 - between 2004 and 2013 while he was working at a performing arts college in Leicester.
The teacher tried to perform sexual acts on one of the victims. He sent sexual messages on Facebook and inappropriately touched the second man.
In 2019, police were contacted by a third victim who said he had been sexually assaulted.
This victim reported Pichery for exposing himself and making the him touch him. This happened at a grooming salon where Pichery was then working.
On Monday (10 November), following a trial at Leicester Crown Court, he was found guilty of four counts of sexual assault – two counts relate to one victim and the other two counts relate to two separate victims.
Pichery, of Exeter Street, Blackpool, is due to be sentenced next month.
Detective Constable Emma Burrows, the investigating officer, said: “It’s clear from the nature of his offending that Pichery is someone who acts on opportunities to fulfil his sexual gratification. He clearly wasn’t thinking about how his behaviour impacted on each of the victims.
“I hope this outcome provides a degree of closure and allows them to put what happened behind them.
“Pichery’s behaviour suggests there may be other victims who have not contacted police. It’s never too late to make a report and I’d urge anyone who has been a victim of Pichery to get in touch.”
