Five arrested after street fight in Nottingham

Five people have been arrested following reports of a fight in the street in Nottingham.

Police were called to Dawes Way, Lenton, shortly before 4.15pm on Thursday following reports of a disturbance.

It is reported a number of people left the scene in a Toyota Yaris.

A car was stopped a short time later at Beeston Fields Recreation Ground and four men – aged 22, 26, 36 and 36 – were arrested on suspicion of affray.

A fifth man, aged 23, was later arrested on suspicion of the same offence.

All five remain in custody for questioning.

One person was treated in hospital for injuries that are described as not life-altering or life-threatening.

Detective Sergeant Frank Guddemi, of Nottinghamshire Police, said:

“Violence will not be tolerated in our neighbourhoods so I’m pleased we were able to quickly attend the incident and prevent further disorder.

“Officers who attended the scene worked efficiently to arrest five suspects.

“Our investigations are continuing and anyone with any information should call police on 101, quoting incident number 488 of 6 February 2025, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.”
