Firefighters tackling large fire in Worksop

Firefighters are tackling a large fire in Worksop.

Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service say they were called at 2.03pm today (9th May) to the fire on Tanker Lane.

Group Manager Tom Staples said: "We would like to reassure the public that we are working hard on scene to get this fire under control.

"The fire contains cylinders and containers, therefore is giving off a lot of smoke and occasionally a loud bang. I would like to confirm that this isn't an explosion, as is being speculated on social media.

"Please avoid the area where possible and if you're local, keep your doors and windows closed."
