A drugs haul has been seized and two women arrested in Nottingham city centre.
Officers stopped a car on Wollaton Street on Thursday evening and found multiple deals of cannabis, and what’s believed to be cocaine and MDMA inside.
More drugs and cash were later recovered from a property elsewhere in the city.
Two 25 year old women are in custody on suspicion of possessing class A and B drugs with intent to supply.
Sergeant Matt Daley, of Nottinghamshire Police, said:
“As these two women have just found out, anyone moving illegal drugs on the streets of Nottinghamshire stands a good chance of being pulled over, searched and arrested.
“We suspected this vehicle of being involved in the movement of illegal substances and very soon had our suspicions confirmed.”
The force also shared Main article content that it was members of the Knife Crime Team, on routine patrol when the car was pulled over. They're trained in pre-emptive stop and search tactics and focus on taking illegal weapons and drugs off the streets.
