Driver jailed for ignoring multiple bans in North Nottinghamshire
Serial offender caught again during rural patrol in Beckingham
Less than 24 hours after he was pulled over by police, a disqualified driver was sentenced to 20 weeks in jail.
Declan Boswell, 25, was stopped in Church Street, Beckingham, at about 11pm on Tuesday, 8th September while officers were on a Rural Crime Week patrol.
Police spotted a Land Rover Defender being driven erratically, leading them to intercept Boswell, who immediately confessed to driving while banned.
With four prior convictions for this offence, Boswell has been consistently ignoring driving bans since he was first prohibited in August 2024 due to drug driving, lack of a licence, and no insurance.
Boswell breached his ban five times, with his most recent offence in April resulting in a six-week jail term.
Appearing in Nottingham Magistrates' Court on Wednesday, 9th September, he received another driving ban and an order to pass an extended retest.
Sergeant Joseph Krawiecki of Bassetlaw Neighbourhood Policing Team said Boswell has shown complete disregard for driving restrictions. "Boswell is a prolific offender who clearly pays no attention at all to the multiple driving bans he has now received".
The patrol also caught another individual wanted for drug driving on the same night.
