Fatality on train tracks in Burton Joyce weeks after 14-year-old killed

A person has been killed on the train tracks in Burton Joyce just weeks after a 14-year-old boy died.

A person has been killed on the train tracks in Burton Joyce just weeks after a 14-year-old boy died there.

Emergency services were called to the village at around 1:30pm yesterday (14 Dec) where a casualty was on the tracks. This person was pronounced dead at the scene.

British Transport Police said: "The incident is not being treated as suspicious, and a file will be prepared for the coroner."

It comes just a few weeks after Joshua Travis, 14, died at the Chestnut Grove crossing in Burton Joyce. He was struck by a train and fatally injured at around 7:05pm on 25 November.

An investigation has been launched into the circumstances surrounding Joshua's death.
