Man arrested after pensioner seriously injured in collision with car in Ashby
A man has been arrested after a pensioner was hit by a car in Ashby-de-la-Zouch and seriously injured.
Police have arrested a man after a pensioner was hit by a car in Ashby-de-la-Zouch and suffered serious injuries.
Officers responded to reports of the collision at the junction of Hill Street and Kilwardby Street just after 9:30pm on Monday (15 Sept) but, when they arrived, the car had already left.
A man in his 70s is being treated for serious injuries.
A 33-year-old was arrested yesterday (17 Sept) and is being questioned on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving.
Leicestershire Police are appealing for witnesses to get in touch. They said: "Officers are continuing to appeal for any witnesses or anyone with dashcam, doorbell or CCTV footage that could help the investigation to come forward.
