A further 31 illegally used e-scooters have been seized by officers across Derbyshire.

More than 700 e-scooters have been removed from the streets since the county's force began its ‘seize first’ approach in November 2024.

Officers and PCSOs now seize on the first offence of riding e-scooters illegally, such as on public roads and pavements.

Inspector Lee Welsby, who leads the Roads Policing Unit said:

“We will continue to be proactive in addressing this issue, which we know matters to many people in our communities.

“If you’re considering buying one of these vehicles, our advice is to think again. Unless you have access to private land to use them, there’s a high chance they could be seized if used illegally in Derbyshire.”
