Vandals cause "extensive damage" after setting Lincluden park alight

No injuries have been reported.

There’s an appeal for information to help trace the vandals who set fire to a park in Lincluden on Sunday, 10 August 2025.

Police were called to the incident within “Popeyes Park” around 11.45pm to find that a bridge structure and a clothing bin had been set alight.

The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service extinguished the blaze, which caused extensive damage.

Constable Ryan Cochrane said, “Thankfully, there were no reports of any injuries; however, the consequences could have been much more serious.

“This fire has caused extensive damage. Four people were seen near the fire, and we are appealing to anyone who may have information on their identity or any details that may assist our investigation to contact us on 101, quoting incident number 3654 of 10 August. Alternatively, Crimestoppers can be contacted on 0800 555 111, where anonymity can be maintained.”
