Two people were taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow for treatment following an accident on the A710 Dumfries to Dalbeattie coastal road.
A red Fiat 500 and a motor trike collided on Friday, 13 June, at around 4.25pm and the road close to New Abbey was shut for around 11 hours so enquiries could be carried out.
The riders of the trike, a 66-year-old man and a 59-year-old woman, were taken to the Glasgow hospital.
There were no other injuries.
Road Policing Constable Keith Mckinnell said: “Our enquiries remain ongoing to establish the full circumstances of this crash, and I would appeal to any witnesses to please contact police.
"We are keen to speak to a large group of motorcyclists who were seen in the area shortly before the collision and may have information.
“In addition, drivers with dash-cam footage around the time of the incident are asked to come forward as this may assist with our enquiries.”
Anyone with information that can help is asked to get in touch on 101, quoting reference 2507 of 13 June, 2025.
