Police have seized two off-road motorcycles and charged a teenager with road traffic offences in Dumfries.

They're still looking for the owner of the second bike and their enquiries to identify him are ongoing.

The individuals were caught by officers who were on foot and cycled patrol to find them using the bikes on roads, pavements and cycle paths.

Police Scotland Dumfries and Galloway say the riders are putting the community at risk as well as themselves because they were not wearing protective equipment.

The bikes had no lights and “are not road worthy”.

Anyone with information about the use of off-road bikes or who witnessed them being used on roads is being urged to call 101.
