A teenager whose body was recovered from a river in Dumfries died just days after his 18th birthday, his family have said.
Benjamin Glen, from Dumfries, died following an incident in the River Nith. It's understood he went into the water looking for a dog's play ball.
Emergency services were called to the scene at 6.50pm on Thursday April 30.
The teenager’s family released a picture of him through Police Scotland, adding that he had celebrated his 18th birthday last week.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “The death is not being treated as suspicious and a report will be sent to the procurator fiscal.”
