Queen of the South fan assaulted in Glasgow at away game
The Dumfries supporter was given medical treatment.
Officers were called to Firhill Road around 9:45pm on Tuesday after the young fan was targeted by supporters of the home club.
Partick Thistle have released a statement thanking everyone who came to help and say they're appalled by what happened.
Queen of the South says all supporters should be able to enjoy the game without any trouble or threats to their safety.
The young man was treated, and police are still trying to figure out what happened.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Enquiries are ongoing into an assault in the Firhill Road area of Glasgow on Tuesday, 22 July 2025.”
A Partick Thistle spokesperson said: "Players and officials of Partick Thistle were appalled at the incident that occurred after the final whistle in last night’s game with Queen of the South at The Wyre Stadium at Firhill.
“We thank the group of home and away fans that came to the assistance of the young visiting supporter in the aftermath, and also thank our first team medical staff who applied treatment in the club’s physio department.
“Queen of the South have provided an update this morning, and we are pleased to hear that the young person involved is doing well and echo their wishes for a speedy recovery.
“The matter is now in the hands of Police Scotland."
A Queen of the South spokesperson said: “The club are disappointed with the incident that took place after our cup tie against Partick Thistle last night.
“We are delighted to hear that those involved are OK and wish them a speedy recovery.
“Supporters should be allowed to follow their team safely, and we are pleased that the matter is now being handled by Police Scotland."
