Police seize gun and ammo on M74 car stop

Two men have been arrested and charged after a gun and ammunition were seized in a car stop in Dumfries & Galloway.
Police, acting on intelligence, pull over the vehicle on the M74 near Locherbie around 7.55pm last night as part of efforts to combat serious and organised crime.
The two men, aged 35 and 39, are due in Dumfries Sheriff Court on Monday.
Detective Superintendent Steven Elliott highlighted the dangers posed by firearms, stating, "Firearms clearly cause risk and harm to our communities, and this recovery sends a clear message to those involved that we will not tolerate their illegal activities."
"We remain absolutely committed to tackling serious and organised crime, and information from the public is vital to this work."
