Two people are to appear at court today after being arrested and charged by police who recovered drugs from a property in Annan yesterday worth over £6,000.

While executing a warrant, detectives found the cocaine with an estimated street value of £6,000 and cannabis estimated to be worth £400 inside the address on Standalane.

A 33-year-old man and a 46-year-old woman are due to appear at Dumfries Sheriff Court today.

The 33-year-old man was also charged in connection with a serious assault from an incident on Sunday 1, June in Annan, which saw a 27-year-old being taken away to DGRI for treatment.

Detective Inspector Scott Wilson said: "Drugs cause misery in our communities, and we are determined to disrupt the supply of illegal substances and trace those involved.

"This recovery means a significant quantity of drugs will not end up on our streets and underlines our commitment to the Serious Organised Crime Taskforce and the country's Serious Organised Crime Strategy.

"Anyone with any information or concerns about drugs in their community can call Police Scotland on 101, or contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111."
