A man is in hospital with serious injuries after an attack in Lochmaben.

It happened in the early hours of Thursday morning, around 4.30am, when a 40-year-old man was found injured in Stanedyke Crescent, after being assaulted in the Wallace Court area.

A 50-year-old man has been arrested in connection, but enquiries are ongoing.

Detectives are asking anyone with dash-cam or CCTV from around that time to get in touch.

Detective Inspector Scott Wilson said: “I would appeal to anyone who was in the area at the time and may have witnessed what happened to please contact us with any information.

“I would also ask drivers with dash-cams to check footage as this may assist in our enquiries. Likewise, anyone with private CCTV around this area is asked to get in touch.”
